# Build your first agent

The fastest way to understand agents is to build one that saves you time this week.

Start with a moment you already know:

* the meeting you always prep for at the last minute,
* the follow-up you always mean to send faster,
* the report you rebuild every Friday,
* the alert you wish you got two days earlier.

Then teach Rox to do it for you.

#### Step 1

Go to **Custom Agents** at <https://run.rox.com/agents/custom>.

#### Step 2

Click **New agent**.

#### Step 3

Choose how you want to start.

You can create an agent in two ways:

* **AI build from prompt (recommended)**\
  Describe what you want, answer clarifying questions, and let Rox draft the trigger and prompt.
* **AI build from template**\
  Start from a template, then refine it in Studio.

#### Step 4

Sit back and watch the agent configure the whole flow for you.

Answer any clarifying questions it may ask.

#### Step 5

Save and start the workflow to test run.

#### Step 6

Activate the agent.

When the agent passes its test run, toggle **Activate** to enable it for live runs.
