Create a Play (Targeted Campaign) in Rox

A Play in Rox is a repeatable sales motion: you segment your territory around a shared characteristic, then launch an outbound campaign with tailored messaging. Follow this guide to filter your account list, build a segment, and generate a campaign.

Set Up Your View

  1. Navigate to the Rox "Agents" page

    1. On the top of your browser, click on "+ Add View".

    2. Name the view (e.g., Consumer Mobile Apps).

    3. Select or deselect the columns that you want to include by default (tip: the less columns, the more focused the view becomes).

  2. Add a Clever Column

    1. On the top right of your screen, click on the magic wand icon located next to "Generate Campaign" button (on hover it will say "Add Clever Column".

    2. Provide the minimum required configuration: a name for the column and what you'd like the agent to search for, in plain English. Example:

      Name = HasConsumerMobileApplication

Prompt = “Starting with yes or no, does this company have a consumer mobile application?”

  3. Filter on the new column

    • Click the Filter funnel icon beside the search bar.

    • Select HasConsumerMobileApplication, and apply the filter criteria that matches the output style you requested above. In this example, we selected "starts with" and "yes".

    • Press Enter to apply the filter your list (e.g., from 63 ➜ 31 companies). • Click on "Save Filter" to persist the new filter.

  4. Review the source evidence (optional)

    • Click the Source icon in any row to see the app store link or other proof Rox found.

Launch the Campaign Wizard

  1. Select target companies

    • Check one, many, or all companies in the filtered view.

  2. Click "Generate Campaign"

    • The Campaign Wizard opens with your selected accounts pre-loaded.

Complete the Campaign Wizard

  1. Name the campaign

    • Example: Mobile App Outreach

  2. Confirm or add accounts

    • Type in the search bar the accounts you'd like to add or delete them to remove them. You can also use the "views" (displayed at the top) to include groups of accounts.

  3. Select the contacts

    • Select at least one per account.

  4. Choose an email template

    • Select your saved template (tone, structure, CTA) that matches the play that you are looking to run.

  5. Select clever columns to use in the email creation

    • Select one of the clever columns you've created so the agents personalize the email around that content. • As a rule of thumb, the fewer columns you select, the more targeted the email becomes.

  6. Select products and/or case studies (optional)

    • Select any products or case studies you want the agents to reference.

  7. Generate Campaign

    • Click Generate and the Rox Agents will start compiling personalized messaging.

Review & Send

  • The new campaign appears in Campaigns with status Initialized.

  • Open a draft to preview each email—note the dynamic insertion of the prospect’s app name and pain points.

  • Edit if needed and send!
